Benefits of Life Long Learning
New learning at any age positively affects your lifestyle including improved memory, attention and reasoning abilities. By learning and participating in new activities, you stay socially connected with others, improve brain functioning, and gain the opportunity to share your new knowledge with others, including the next generation.
Have you heard that it is never too late to learn new skills? Well, it's true. We encourage you to take part in our Education opportunities to learn more and join us in shaping an age-friendly community that is accessible, safe, and enjoyable for all.
Learning for Wellness
These educational sessions will benefit many seniors, caregivers, family members, volunteers, and the broader community. Events will be posted on the website and in the local community. Individuals interested in receiving event notification are encouraged to contact us through email.
Some educational sessions will be offered free while others will be offered at a nominal suggested rate. Of special importance is the role of the Speaker Series and Educational Workshops in training seniors and volunteers to become knowledgeable and informed about the aging process and in helping others live in a caring, age-friendly community. These events are free for volunteers enrolled in the MABF training program.
